Tuesday's Tip - Sioux County Newspapers

I recently was forwarded a link to this site that is awesome if you are researching people in Sioux County, Iowa. Sioux Center has a pretty big Dutch community and I have a lot of relatives on the Koops side of my family that are from there and still live in the area. Just with a quick search I found a number of obituaries that I hadn't seen before. The only caveat is that it seems to me that the older newspapers don't have the greatest scans. They are readable, but not necessarily something that you would grab the image of and post. But they are great for information and transcribing!

Happy 90th Birthday Aunt Millie

Millie (Wisner) Hand had her 90th birthday celebration this weekend in Mt Shasta, CA. So we drove up and spent some time with her. She is really doing well for 90. I met a few relatives that I had never met before. Here is a picture with her and her 3 sons: Larry, Mark and Bud.


Most of our family was able to make the 3 hour drive. We were only missing 1 out of the 5 families from Marysville that didn't make the drive. My son Owen must have been feeling exceptionally strong in this moment. The red eyes add to the effect.
